Serpent Siren Maelstrom Myth

A long hot Summer spent at our favourite Pittwater surf beaches, swimming and exploring rock pools in addition to lazy afternoons immersed in stories and myths of the sea.

The Sea, always the Sea but also the Sun, Moon and the Elements.

Throw in the form and colour palette of oysters and their shells which have fascinated me since childhood, having grown up on Derrubbin (the Hawkesbury River), continually inspiring my work in clay.

The collection’s name coming from a book of Sea Stories and Mythology by Gerry Smyth.
